Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP)

What is Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP)?

Our Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) is a group of people with direct personal experience of dementia or caring for someone with dementia, it is an essential part of our organisation. Members provide expert insight to help shape ReMind UK’s research, services, and policies, acting as a “critical friend” to ensure the voices of those affected remain at the heart of everything we do.

Our Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) meet 4 times a year, usually in March, May, July and November. For those who live locally this is an in-person meeting, with an option to join via an online link for those who cannot attend in person.

In addition to these meetings we may also need to communicate with you via email or ask you to complete a survey or questionnaire.

Members may be involved in:

  • Giving their opinion about new activities and events we might offer to those with a diagnosis or caring for someone with dementia
  • Giving feedback on our communications and website
  • Having a say on what goes in our advice guide, leaflets and packs
  • Having a voice in patient information designed for our research studies and trials
  • Providing feedback on dementia services, support or information from researchers or providers to help improve local interventions
