On 3rd November 2025, a dedicated team from Bath University took on an incredible international challenge: a 100km cross-border walk from France to the Netherlands, raising vital funds for ReMind UK.
Starting in Dunkirk, the team travelled along the Belgian coast before finishing in Cadzand, Netherlands. For every £10 raised, they committed to walking an extra kilometre on top of the original 100km, turning fundraising into real, meaningful miles. To date the team have raised £800.
Other members of the team will also be getting involved closer to home by running the Bath Half Marathon on 15 March 2026, to add to the fundraising efforts already achieved.
This challenge is especially close to the team’s hearts. One member recently lost her grandad to dementia and shared why supporting ReMind UK means so much:
My grandad was a loving husband, father and an inspiration to me. Even when he forgot where I went to university or how old I was, he never forgot how to laugh, smile, or love. Every week, he found joy and comfort at a dementia centre, where he could socialise, bond with others, take part in activities, and keep his brain stimulated. That centre gave us all something to look forward to. Support like that can make a world of difference to people like him, living with dementia. ReMind UK helps make similar opportunities possible for others like him, while also funding vital research to understand better.”
